Cornerstone combines large focus-fabric blocks with simple strip-pieced blocks creating a bold diagonal stair-step design without complicated construction. Fabric #1 is directional fabric friendly, making this a great choice for large florals, novelty prints, and other focus fabrics you don't want to cut into tiny pieces. Using Fabric Café's trusted 3-yard fabric strategy, this beginner-friendly quilt requires just three 1-yard cuts of fabric and finishes at 47" x 59".

Materials Needed

  • Quilt Top: Three 1-yard cuts of fabric
  • Backing Fabric: 3 yards
  • Twin-size batting
  • Thread to match fabric
  • Fabric should measure at least 42" wide after selvages are removed
  • Single-fold binding is included; add ½ yard for double-fold binding
  • ¼" seam allowance used throughout
