Shoreline is a beautiful 3-yard quilt pattern designed to create a striking lap-size quilt using three one-yard cuts of fabric.

This design alternates large focus fabric blocks with dynamic inset diamond blocks, creating a quilt that highlights both bold prints and eye-catching patchwork. The simple squares provide the perfect space to showcase scenic prints, large florals, or other favorite focus fabrics.

The diamond blocks add visual interest and contrast to the layout. These blocks are constructed using half square triangles along with stitch-and-flip corners, creating the inset diamond effect while keeping the piecing process straightforward and approachable.

Written as an economy quilt, the pattern efficiently utilizes 44-inch wide quilting fabric with minimal waste. Clear cutting instructions, diagrams, and step-by-step assembly guidance help guide you through the quilting process from start to finish.

The combination of focus fabric blocks and geometric diamond units gives Shoreline a balanced layout that beautifully showcases your fabric choices while adding an engaging patchwork element to the design.


Materials Needed:
  • Quilt Top: 3, 1 yard cuts of fabric.
  • Backing Fabric: 3 yards of coordinating fabric.
  • Twin-size batting.
  • Thread to match fabric.
  • Optional double-fold binding: Additional ½ yard of fabric.
Assembly Notes:
  • Use fabric that is no less than 42" after selvages are removed.
  • Single fold binding is used. An additional 1/2 yard of fabric is needed for a double fold binding.
  • 1/4" seam allowance is used throughout the quilt.
  • We choose to press our seams open.
