Boardwalk is a striking quilt pattern designed to create a bold geometric quilt using five one-yard cuts of fabric.
This eye-catching design combines stitch-and-flip, strip assembly, and simple block construction to form a layout that feels both structured and dynamic. The repeating blocks create a star-like pattern across the quilt top while alternating fabrics add contrast and movement throughout the design.
Written as an economy quilt, the pattern efficiently uses 44-inch wide quilting fabric with minimal waste. Detailed cutting instructions, clear diagrams, and step-by-step assembly guidance make the construction process easy to follow.
If you enjoy quilt patterns with strong geometry and dramatic visual impact, Boardwalk is a rewarding project that showcases your favorite fabrics while creating a beautiful lap-size quilt.
Materials Needed:
Quilt Top: 5, 1 yard cuts of fabric.
Backing Fabric: 5 yards of coordinating fabric.
Twin-size batting.
Thread to match fabric.
Optional double-fold binding: Additional ½ yard of fabric.
Assembly Notes:
Use fabric that is no less than 42" after selvages are removed.
Single fold binding is used. An additional 1/2 yard of fabric is needed for a double fold binding.
I wanted this pattern in particular because it looks interesting and should be fun to make. I will be making it in the near future. I love these patterns!
